Good Taste

I have in total bought him 4 pairs of shoes – baby “POOH” soft soles, sandals, imitate crocs and a flip flop from a World of Carton warehouse sales in the range of RM6 to RM20. I never splurge on babies stuff. He loves shoes so much so that his eyes will light-up the moment he put it on. For simple reason, he understands that this is the only chance he can go out and play or go shopping. Due to his large, broad and deep feet, I bought oversize shoes for him. It is always one size larger. Nevertheless, his feet still outgrew his first pair of shoes (size 5 - for children 2-2.5 years).

So, we got to shop for new shoes. At first, we saw Kikilala shoes on sales and it only costs RM29 per pair. I took a pair and asked him to try. He refused to put it on and kept saying “mum moi, mum moi” (Cantonese: Dun wan Dun wan). We then window shopped at Nike shop for fun. I took a pair of Nike sport shoes and showed it to him. He loves it at first sight and tempted to try it. It costs about RM139. Darn expensive. How can he develop expensive taste at such a young age? I only bought shoes above RM100 after I started working. My hubby tempted to buy it for him but I insisted not buying. My rationale is that he will outgrow it within a short time. It is just NOT worth it.
