CAR SEATS DANGER TO NEW BABIES

“Car seats are not ideal places for safe infant sleep in the home. “A Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths spokeswoman

“Car seats should only be used for travel and that should be minimized. “Dr Robert Dinwiddie, Great Ormond Street Hospital, London

Baby car seat “cot death” has raised concern among the mothers as it is a legal requirement for children travelling in a car to use a car seat. The problems arise because the reflexes which keep the babies head upright and their breathing normal are still not full developed.

I still believe that human car seat is safer especially for long journey. I will be my ah bi's car seat for this coming CNY balik kampung trip.

Deaths Rise of Kids Accidentally Left in Car

A shocking news I just noted from my friend. I’m afraid to be part of the Statistics. Let’s take some precaution methods as follows:

More Expensive.....

  1. The Child Presence Sensor is designed to hang on the driver's key ring when a child is placed in a car seat and sounds 10 warning beeps if the driver moves too far away from the vehicle. Further, if the driver doesn't return within a minute, the alarm will beep continuously. The sensor switch triggers when a child is placed in a car seat and deactivates when the child is removed. If u come across this product, pls let me know.
  2. Volvo features a personal car communicator option that can detect a heartbeat inside the vehicle. After-market options can include viewing mirrors and monitors.
Inexpensive…….
  1. Having a visual reminder such as a pacifier or other small baby item on their keychain can serve as a visual reminder.
  2. A sticky note with the word "baby" can be stuck on the dash, or even a small picture of baby placed in a highly prominent position that the driver can't overlook

100th day

I’m finally 100 days old on 11th Jan 2008. Grandma bought me food to lick. China Leek is to make me more intelligent. Chicken tongue is to make me a good speaker. Chicken thigh is to make me grow stronger and faster. Hahaha………… How true are these????? Puzzle.

Excessive Saliva

Sigh! I can’t control myself from spitting too much saliva? I always choke over my saliva when I talk a lot. Mom put on a bib for me but she is worried that the white spots on my neck will get worsen as my neck skin is covered with layers of fleshes. I can’t help it with a short neck.

“GU LOW”

Why my hair doesn’t grow on this big circle? Chinese believes that it is “Gu Low”. When your husband has elder sisters, you can see this on your baby. My husband has got two elder sisters; therefore the “Gu Low” has becoming more prominent. Just wondering when will this “Gu Low” goes off???

Loving son

My son started to learn to protect me. He shouted at my sister-in-law when she complained me in front of him. He shouted so loud that my sil was shocked and scolded him. He became angrier and shouted her again. I didn’t realize that he has grown so fast that he can actually defend me. :D

Scary bath

I was finally forced to bathe ah bi. The first time was with the help of my husband. Second time was in my mil’s house w/o my husband’s help. I almost strangled him when I held his neck instead of his arms. He choked and I quickly turned him to c if he was alright. I always ended-up soaking in sweat and water after each bath. He was stoned whenever I bathed him. He seems to sense the danger. He didn’t enjoy it and was worried which can tell from his expression.

Sad Departure

My mom had finally left on 10 Jan. Ah bi started his new life in my mother-in-law’s house. I can only see him over the weekend. I used to feed him every night. First night without him, I couldn’t sleep. I stayed up v late, looking at his photos. Hope he is doing well there as my mil takes good care of him.

My Great Part Time Nanny

My great sister-in-law is our lovable care taker for ah bi. She always helps us whenever we need to go for leisure activities. She always applies cream on ah bi's rashes, white spots, etc. She also helps to clean ("mat san") ah bi in the evening. She carrys ah bi around and pat him to sleep everyday. I'll be taking care of him at night. Now that I know it is better to live with someone (must care for babies) when u have a child. I must thank god for bringing her to ah bi. :)

Baby Sitter

My mom is leaving for Ktn soon. I'd checked out a babysitter near my house. She is currently taking care of 1+ year child which made me worry if he is going to disturb my son. During my visit to her house, the boy seems to be v active and climbed up and down the sofa and ran around. I'd heard enough bad experiences with babysitter. One of my colleague's sons was confined in a baby cot whole day and he was locked in an air-conditioned room with a TV. He was deprived of freedom and his life is like behind the bar. He becomes v rebelled and needs lots of attentions from the parent whenever he is at home. Poor child...

Another choice would be my mother-in-law. Puzzle???? At her old age and weak knees, I still wonder if she is fit enough to take care of him. Nevertheless, my husband still prefer to let her try. If she can't really do that, we will then look for the babysitter.

New Year Resolution

Last year resolutions were achieved. A husband, a healthy son and healthy parents.

This year, I wish to go out with my son alone if I can manage him well.
Secondly, I would like to get myself a new car.
Third, I wish I can stay in my own house either my condo or my husband's house.
Forth, I would like to diversify my invesment portfolio to gain better return. This is to accumulate enough wealth for my retirement.
Last but not least, I wish everyone in Chin's and Au's family healthy and happy always.
