Disco Fever

I had recently indulged in my new habit - dancing with shaking my head wildly. My aunty was so enterntained and laughed hilariously when I shaked my heads listening to the disco songs. My parents weren't v happy with that as they didn't want me to turn into a disco kaki. They tried to warn those who have taught me this bad habit. :(

Sick

I threw out milk on Sunday morning when the phlegm stucked in my throat. Then, my mom sent me to Sri Sinar PD who gave me few medicine. Unfortunately, the medicine is extremely bitter which made me threw out and spit. My parents had tried several ways to mix it with other sweet syrup, I still threw out. At the end, they gave out on the medicine.

I was seeing another doctor who asked me to suck gas to clear the phelgm. Terrible experience. I cried non-stop. My parents' heart wrecked. Hmmm..... Today I may need to go again :(

Compliments

My son started to cleaning-up his mess but...... with one condition. He must get compliments from you to motivate him to do the clean-up. Whenever he returns the toys to the original place, you must praise him "GOOD BOY" + "CLAP HAND" to boost his spirit. Sometimes, he will clap his hands when he completes his task. :D So Funny.

This technique is proven to be effective when you need him to pick-up new skills. Nowadays, toddlers need lots of encouragement to keep learning going.

Shopping Scare

My mom used to be a shopaholic but she is no longer enjoying shopping with me. :( I'll go crazy walking around the shopping mall directionless. I don't like to hold my parent's hand. As I can't walk steadily in a straight line, I can easily bump into a dustbin or wall or even the crowd. I'll make a fuss when my parent put me in a stroller or hug me. My mom felt so embarrassed when I threw tantrum in the public. :P

When I arrived home, I would keep my upbeat mood at home, walking around like a headless chicken.

Now that I'll grab every opportunity to go out whenever I noticed my parent wearing nice clothes or put on shoes for me.

Discipline

My mom has recently read a parenting book given by her friend. My mom wanted to instill discipline in my life so that I can be strong person when grow-up. I started to learn to pick-up my mess after playing my flash cards and shaped blocks. There are other stuff coming along :) depending on how fast my mom can read the book.

My First Few Words

My first word at 9 months is "Papa". My second word is "Star". I learned it from my mom when I played my shaped blocks.

My mom is quite dissapointed as I never call her. I purposedly call her "papa" when she asked her to call her "mama". :P

You can c from this picture how random is my sleep posture. Becoz of this, my mom always needs to fight space with me.

Mom Scare

I'd eaten few packs of tainted teething biscuits with few more new packs at home. At first, I was eaten imported rusks biscuits but my mom said it melted easily on hand and mouth and I'll become so dirty after eating it.
My mom's friend introduced this Want Want Take One Baby Bites (made in Shanghai, China) to my mom because it's a rice cracker and it won't melt easily on hand. Until yesterday, my mom just came to know that it was recalled by Singapore govt. So scary, will my kidney be alright??? :(
PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS TEETHING BISCUITS

Another fear is my rice cereal. My mom check on today's The Star paper and couldn't find it in the Nestle safe product list. I just finished one tin. :(

My mom should start seriously thinking about breastfeed my sister as the infant formula can not be trusted now. :P

My First Few Steps

From 7 months, I started to stand and walk by holding on to the sofa/tables/chairs/walls. Till 11 months, I was able to stand freely. Now, I can walk few steps without support.

My 1st Birthday

I celebrated my birthday on last Sunday. After praying to my god father "Kuan Ti" and my ancestors, I was asked to choose one of the twelve items displayed in the picture. It was a traditional game where the item I chose will determine my future.

At first, I was drooling at the drumstick, then touched the abascus and ruler and finally picked-up a "COIN" which says I'll become a rich man. :P My mom hope that it is TRUE. :D

I was so happy and smiled for whole day. It was an eye opener for me - cake cutting, blow candles, open presents, so many people surrounding me (all Au's families).

Birthday Cake

My mum has downloaded a few winnie the pooh cake pictures. Which one is good? Then what type of cake is suitable for one year old baby? Carrot, banana, fruit cakes?

Bad Breath

Recently, my mum discovered that I have bad breath. Why???? My grandma said that I could have eaten the cake which contains egg. Old people believe that children below 1 year old shouldn't be fed with egg. It will cause bad breath. TRUE or NOT?

Doing House Chores

I like helping out my "Gu Gu" to dry clothes. I'll help her to bring out the clothes one by one. In fact, throwing things out of the pail is one of my favourite activities. :D

I hate to sit in my potty

I don't like to sit in my potty. It was a painful experience.

What is the suitable gift for one year old baby?

Mum has gone crazy of thinking about how to celebrate my one-year old birthday.

First, she thought of bring me up to Genting Highland.

Then, she wanna buy me a cake which I can eat. A "Pooh" cake?

Third, she is thinking to buy me a gift. ??? What is suitable. Lego set ? Rocking horse? Push-along toys to aid his walking?

Forth, do i need a party that include all mum's good friends or a family gathering will do?

Hmmm......... Tough choice.

Not Enough Toys

My mom always thinks that toddler below 2 years old doesn’t need any toys. But, my father bought me a “rattle ball” and a “DRUM” which I got bored of it after playing for less than 10 minutes. Not FUN.

People surrounding me, sympathize me of not having enough toys to play. My mom’s brother bought me train, Xylophone and ball. My “not so generous” aunty adored me so much and bought me a lot of stuff like some toys and baby stuff. Au family praised me for my ability to con my aunties’ $$$$. :D

Actually, I'm just interested in all types of bottle (yu yi oil tin bottle, mineral bottle, etc). It saves mum lots of money after all. :D

“Kung Fu” Baby

I like to roll over and switch my sleeping position 360 degree when I co-sleep with my mom. My mom has gone tired of sharing the blanket with me as she doesn’t know how to fix the blanket on top of my body. As I roll over, the blanket will be under my body. Sometimes, I roll over onto her pillow and hit her eyes and face so hard and I cried and went back to sleep. Apparently, most babies my age share the same sleeping pattern. After all, I’m just NORMAL. :P

Momy Poko Quality in doubt

Recently, I couldn’t sleep thru the night with Momy Poko. It couldn’t last me for two urines at night. Have I pee a lot more now than in the past? My pants and shirts will soak in urine when my mom forgets to change it for me in the middle of the night. What other brand can I use????

Badminton Fever - 17 Aug

Yesterday, the whole Au family was waiting for the Olympic Final Match between our LCW and China LD. While we were busy to get ready for the match. The TV was suddenly blacked out. Oh no :(. The TV koyak oredi after my father non-stop watching Olympic from morning till evening. Tried to fix it but failed.

Later, my aunty "gugu" called out help from mom's elder SIL if we can tumpang watching at their house. They were still out for dinner and their RTM 1 reception is bad. Then, we thought of going my "mama" house.

Suddently, Mom remembered her old TV in the store room. My father quickly took it out and fixed it. Luckily, it was still intact. :P

Later, I was put to sleep so that they could run their errands - go out ta pao, wash clothes, take shower, etc.

However, I managed to wake-up in time to watch the final match with them. My mom supported LCW with the hope that M'sia will announce public holiday while my gugu and father supported LD. My mum was teased by them when LCW lost. LD played so well that he controlled the whole game. Half-way through the match, I was happily walking around without much attention from them. I slipped and landed my head quite badly on the marble floor. I cried and cried so loud. All of them started to switch their attention back to me and my father put ice pack on my swollen forehead. After a good 41 mins match, we all went to sleep with big dissapointment. What an easy game?

"PANG"

Yesterday was very hot. After drinking my milk, my mum wanted to pat me to sleep around 10pm. However, my father said it is about time to train me to sleep by myself. I was laid on the bed, freely roll over on the bed to find a good sleeping position. As I just recovered from my cold, doctor advised not to sleep in air-cond room. We were forced to use fan despite soaking in sweat in this hot weather.

Soon, my parent dozed off easily. I was fallen asleep too. As usual, I would normally crawl all over the bed with my eyes closed. Without knowing I was reaching the edge of the bed, I lost balance and fell off the bed. "PANG". My mum jumped off the bed and shout "Oh my god". She immediately scooped me up from the floor. I was crying so loud at around 11.30pm. My father came to inspect me if I was still intact. Luckily, no major injury. :P So tension!!!

Mum's Office Feng Shui

When my mum was having me last time, she used to hang out with a bunch of expecting mothers. Now that my mum is having my sister, she is now also having a few friends who are expecting next year. I think my mum's office has this "Productive Feng Shui" for different reason.

My First Solid Food

I started my solid food at 7-month old. It is Nestle rice cereal original taste. I threw it out the first time I tasted it. Then, I changed to porridge. Doctor said I prefer salty food to sweet food. My grandma cooked me fish, potato porridge. I'm so dirty eating solid food. Apple is my daily fruit.

Visit 2nd Doctor

My cough is not getting better when I almost finished my medicine. My mum brought me to c a v famous radio PD in Taman Puri last Saturday. My mum called in to make a booking and v got number 3. Upon my turn, my mum just briefly told PD that I had cough and runny nose. The doctor talked at v fast pace and used a computer picture to show that my airway to lung is inflamed and my phlegm was stucked in the narrow airway. My nose is blocked because the mucus is tucked in the narrow airway. The doctor sprayed sea water into my nose to clear the mucus. Later, I was taken to a nurse who helped to put on a oxygen mask for 5 minutes. I was made to suck some gas and I cried out so loud. Hmmm, when will I recover??

Yesterday was a hot weather, my mum dressed me in short sleeves noticing that I got hot rashes in the armpit and turned the fan to full speed. My cough is worsen. I may need to suck gas again tonite. :(

Sick

My son coughs v badly, his nose is blocked and threw out after drinking milk or eat medicine. He couldn't sleep well at night with the blocked nose. We have to pat him to sleep several times at night. After seeing doctor, his condition didn't improve much except that he can sleep better at night because he became drowsy after having the medicines. He cried v loud and refused to take medicines. One person has to carry him, another one holding his head and the third one fed him the medicine.

Exhausted

Recently, my husband brought my son home every evening. My SIL, husband and I felt so exhausted taking care of him. Dunno how my MIL cope with it. SALUTE!!!

Do we look alike?

Stranger Anxiety

He will cry whenever my elder sil and bil holds him. Strangely, he is ok with the nurse in Pantai.???

Growing fast

From reaching out to object, give me “FIVE” to hit u repeatedly.

From difficult to turn to flexibly turn to left and right

Legs are stronger and tend to stand longer and started learning to walk.

Unbearable Pain

My mother-in-law was concerned about my son’s neck. She had experienced two children of being diagnosed neck rigidity and required physiotherapy. When she noticed that my son tends to turn to one side, she asked me to bring him to see doctor. On 25 Mar, we brought him to one physiotherapy centre in Jln Ipoh. Upon arrival, the doctor checked if he can turn to right and left sides easily. He tended to stay longer on the right side but NOT left side. She then suspected the left neck is inflexible. She twisted my son’s neck 180 degree. My son cried out so loud. I think the pain was unbearable and I also cried out seeing him being tortured in that way. After almost 10+ twist with some stops in between, the physiotherapist concluded that his neck rigidity is mild and she couldn’t tell which side has problem. She even asked us to let him sleep on his stomach to check if he preferred to sleep on one side. Puzzle??? Not sure if this therapist is good enough.. Need to seek for second opinion.

4 Apr, went back to Pantai to consult his birth PD. Did some test and confirmed no problem. Huh! No more torture for my son.

Mother with kid … victim to car theft

One of my colleagues went to pick-up his son as usual in the evening last Monday. She got down the car and put his son into the car seat at the back seat leaving the car engine on. An Indian man came by and drove off her car while she was still buckling the seat belt for her son. She was left in shock when the Indian guy drove off her car with her son. I was terrified and was not dared to bring my son out alone now. **

CAR SEATS DANGER TO NEW BABIES

“Car seats are not ideal places for safe infant sleep in the home. “A Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths spokeswoman

“Car seats should only be used for travel and that should be minimized. “Dr Robert Dinwiddie, Great Ormond Street Hospital, London

Baby car seat “cot death” has raised concern among the mothers as it is a legal requirement for children travelling in a car to use a car seat. The problems arise because the reflexes which keep the babies head upright and their breathing normal are still not full developed.

I still believe that human car seat is safer especially for long journey. I will be my ah bi's car seat for this coming CNY balik kampung trip.

Deaths Rise of Kids Accidentally Left in Car

A shocking news I just noted from my friend. I’m afraid to be part of the Statistics. Let’s take some precaution methods as follows:

More Expensive.....

  1. The Child Presence Sensor is designed to hang on the driver's key ring when a child is placed in a car seat and sounds 10 warning beeps if the driver moves too far away from the vehicle. Further, if the driver doesn't return within a minute, the alarm will beep continuously. The sensor switch triggers when a child is placed in a car seat and deactivates when the child is removed. If u come across this product, pls let me know.
  2. Volvo features a personal car communicator option that can detect a heartbeat inside the vehicle. After-market options can include viewing mirrors and monitors.
Inexpensive…….
  1. Having a visual reminder such as a pacifier or other small baby item on their keychain can serve as a visual reminder.
  2. A sticky note with the word "baby" can be stuck on the dash, or even a small picture of baby placed in a highly prominent position that the driver can't overlook

100th day

I’m finally 100 days old on 11th Jan 2008. Grandma bought me food to lick. China Leek is to make me more intelligent. Chicken tongue is to make me a good speaker. Chicken thigh is to make me grow stronger and faster. Hahaha………… How true are these????? Puzzle.

Excessive Saliva

Sigh! I can’t control myself from spitting too much saliva? I always choke over my saliva when I talk a lot. Mom put on a bib for me but she is worried that the white spots on my neck will get worsen as my neck skin is covered with layers of fleshes. I can’t help it with a short neck.

“GU LOW”

Why my hair doesn’t grow on this big circle? Chinese believes that it is “Gu Low”. When your husband has elder sisters, you can see this on your baby. My husband has got two elder sisters; therefore the “Gu Low” has becoming more prominent. Just wondering when will this “Gu Low” goes off???

Loving son

My son started to learn to protect me. He shouted at my sister-in-law when she complained me in front of him. He shouted so loud that my sil was shocked and scolded him. He became angrier and shouted her again. I didn’t realize that he has grown so fast that he can actually defend me. :D

Scary bath

I was finally forced to bathe ah bi. The first time was with the help of my husband. Second time was in my mil’s house w/o my husband’s help. I almost strangled him when I held his neck instead of his arms. He choked and I quickly turned him to c if he was alright. I always ended-up soaking in sweat and water after each bath. He was stoned whenever I bathed him. He seems to sense the danger. He didn’t enjoy it and was worried which can tell from his expression.

Sad Departure

My mom had finally left on 10 Jan. Ah bi started his new life in my mother-in-law’s house. I can only see him over the weekend. I used to feed him every night. First night without him, I couldn’t sleep. I stayed up v late, looking at his photos. Hope he is doing well there as my mil takes good care of him.

My Great Part Time Nanny

My great sister-in-law is our lovable care taker for ah bi. She always helps us whenever we need to go for leisure activities. She always applies cream on ah bi's rashes, white spots, etc. She also helps to clean ("mat san") ah bi in the evening. She carrys ah bi around and pat him to sleep everyday. I'll be taking care of him at night. Now that I know it is better to live with someone (must care for babies) when u have a child. I must thank god for bringing her to ah bi. :)

Baby Sitter

My mom is leaving for Ktn soon. I'd checked out a babysitter near my house. She is currently taking care of 1+ year child which made me worry if he is going to disturb my son. During my visit to her house, the boy seems to be v active and climbed up and down the sofa and ran around. I'd heard enough bad experiences with babysitter. One of my colleague's sons was confined in a baby cot whole day and he was locked in an air-conditioned room with a TV. He was deprived of freedom and his life is like behind the bar. He becomes v rebelled and needs lots of attentions from the parent whenever he is at home. Poor child...

Another choice would be my mother-in-law. Puzzle???? At her old age and weak knees, I still wonder if she is fit enough to take care of him. Nevertheless, my husband still prefer to let her try. If she can't really do that, we will then look for the babysitter.

New Year Resolution

Last year resolutions were achieved. A husband, a healthy son and healthy parents.

This year, I wish to go out with my son alone if I can manage him well.
Secondly, I would like to get myself a new car.
Third, I wish I can stay in my own house either my condo or my husband's house.
Forth, I would like to diversify my invesment portfolio to gain better return. This is to accumulate enough wealth for my retirement.
Last but not least, I wish everyone in Chin's and Au's family healthy and happy always.
